None of This is Possible Without Your Help…

Together with Sports 1 Marketing, we take philanthropy to the next level, and so should you! Every year hundreds of kids apply for scholarships with the hope of pursuing academic excellence and increasing their community engagement. This year we have been able to exceed the ten annual scholarships given by The Crescent Moon Foundation and from your sponsorships and donations we will be able to provide even more opportunities.  To become a donor and help us in our effort to promote education, please contact Foundation Director Iris van der Meer at or donate here to contribute towards a $5,000 scholarship.

“Our nation’s youth deserve every opportunity to succeed and the foundation gives hard working children a chance they might not otherwise have.”

Celebrities and Athletes joined guests at the sold-out Top of Waikiki Restaurant for a cocktail reception, steak & lobster dinner, and live music to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online tickets quickly sold out for the Player’s Party, and the line extended well past the doors of Sky Waikiki. Guests celebrated with their favorite Pro Bowlers; including Adrian Peterson, Khalil Mack, Andre Reed, Delanie Walker, Calais Campbell, Christian Okoye, and Nick Lowery.

Crescent Moon Foundation Travel To Kenya Village First-Hand

I was honored with the Unstoppable Achievement Award at the 6th Annual Unstoppable Gala in 2015 and decided to challenge my fellow University of Washington alumni to join me in sponsoring a village.  Together we raised enough money to build a much larger village in Maasai Mara, Kenya. The village will not only provide housing, but also education, clean water, food, nutrition, healthcare, empowerment and income training. Now that the village is complete, David, Iris and I will be traveling to see firsthand how our efforts have helped impact a community. We are excited to see the development that has been in the works for a year and a half and to share our experience.

Our 2016 Scholarship Recipients Take Center Field at Angel Stadium

The Crescent Moon Foundation and I are honored to host the 2016 Rising Moon Scholarship Recipients on Tuesday, July 19th, 2016 at Angels Stadium.  All local and a few national scholarship recipients will be acknowledged for their achievements on the field prior to the game. Also, they will be invited to enjoy the festivities from a suite above the field, accompanied by a parent or guardian. As a result of our successful fundraisers in the Seattle area over the last year, we were able to more than triple our scholarships for 2016.  A second scholarship presentation will be held in Seattle to honor all our Washington recipients.
